First of all, i’d like to wish you all a Happy New Year and welcome to 2017!!!

As you would have seen, over the last 6 months or so, All About Missy has been MIA.

Nothing. No blog posts. No rants. No selfies. No inspo shots. No notifications. No emails.

Why, might you ask?

Did I get sick of blogging đź’»

Wasn’t I making enough money đź’¸

Was I jealous I wasn’t as “Insta famous” or popular as other newbies 🤓

Was it too hard and I just gave up? Or perhaps you’re wondering… maybe my health deteriorated and I was shipped off to a mental health facility… or worse đź’€

As much as I hate to disappoint all of my readers, it has been none of those things.

I have been blogging since 2008 before blogging became cool or commercial. It was a lifesaving outlet that allowed me to share, process and heal during my time of ill health.

They say time heals all wounds. I couldn’t agree more đź• .

I’m healthy, happy and moving forward with my life and my career.

January 2015 I had an idea, an idea to create the life I wanted to live. To do the things I loved, that made my heart and soul sing 🎶🎶.

I wanted a purpose, I needed fulfilment.

Over the next 18 months, I slowly started planning and researching, building my business plan as I went, on my Iphone notes app.

In July 2016, The Rebel Collective was open for business and what a fucking unbelievable and crazy 6 months it’s been.

Combining nearly 20 years of experience from Sales and Marketing in the property development industry, Officer training in the Australian Army, Organising DJ Bookings and Nightclub Promotions, Owning a PR Agency,  Fashion Styling, Blogging and Freelance writing, Photography, Publishing and of course Event Management and Social Media – The Rebel Collective is a full service communications and creative agency.

When I was 15 I was admitted to hospital with ovarian cysts. While I was in there, my mum brought me a fluffy toy who I named Alowishus. I don’t remember where I got it from but I just loved the way it sounds. Alowishus…. 22 years on and I still have that fluffy dog somewhere…

So when I knew I was heading up to Bundaberg late last week for an unexpected overnight stay, I knew I just had to check out Alowishus  Delicious, Gelato and Catering.

I’d heard it was a cute little place with great food, and with the growth happening up there I was keen to see what all the fuss was about, plus of course my connection with the name.

Located down a darkened court at the west end of the main strip, named Earls Court, Alowishus Delicious is on your left south of the court, and Alowishus Gelato and Catering on the right.

Open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner Alowishus Delicious uses only fresh local produce from Bundaberg farmers.

As it was a fly by trip, I stopped in for breakfast Thursday morning and was excited to see rows and rows of homemade lemonade and iced tea. The venue itself isn’t anything flash or big, but with a loft inside the cafe,  it goes towards providing a super cute ambience and FREE WIFI!

As far as breakfast goes, I do have a tendency to stick to my favourites – what can I say, when I like something I stick with it.. scrambled eggs and bacon, hash browns (mmmm) but my absolute favourite would have to be eggs benny.. there’s just something about that creamy delicious hollandaise sauce…. drool

Anyway as i’m not a coffee drinker, I opted for one of their homemade peach iced teas and ordered their eggs benedict with bacon. Yes, sounds pretty ordinary I know, but after eating it I was so impressed. In fact I couldn’t even get through the serving. The sourdough was nice and crispy without being soggy from butter, the eggs were perfectly poached, the sauce creamy but not too tangy and sprinkled with dukkah – a tasty little surprise.

The peach iced tea, was AH-MAZING!!! When I was trying to get myself off my coca cola addiction, I started to replace it with various things, juice, water (although I already drank a lot), iced teas and mineral drinks. Peach iced tea was by far my favourite, and I’ve tried a shit load of different brands. Alowishus Delicious Iced Tea is  for sure on the top of my list… I’m just pissed it’s a 5 hour drive away!

Now, even though i’m not a big fan of rules, getting gelato in the morning straight after breakfast wasn’t ideal and with a long drive back home takeaway wasn’t an option either… But as you can see by the below (they were just setting up) with over 60 Italian-style gelato flavours, Alowishus Gelato has got you covered!

Tasty food, friendly service – perfect for grabbing a quick lunch wrap (and iced tea) for work or catching up for brunch or supper (haha yes, I call a late dinner supper) with friends or even just grabbing a quick bite or gelato after a show at the Moncrieff, Alowishus is a BIG surprise.

Now I just need to work out how to get that peach tea into my fridge!

Happy Monday peeps! And what better way to start a new week with a fresh attitude and focus! This is where I need you to complete a very short Blogger Survey.

As I mentioned in an earlier post.. A change is coming

Although my blog has always been a form of creative expression, I wouldn’t have the support and success if it wasn’t for you, my friends, family and followers.

To ensure that my content is relevant and enjoyable as well as being beneficial to read/watch I have done this survey to get a better understanding as to your view of All About Missy and the content I produce.

It would mean a great deal to me if you could complete the below survey and be part of this next chapter in my life!

Thanking you all in advance xx

As a #luxeforless lifer, finding an amazing sale item is as exciting as a kid finding some old Easter candy in their wardrobe!

As awesome as a great bargain is, sometimes looking for them (especially if you’re on a budget or low income) can be time consuming and in some cases pot luck.

Enter FASHION LANE, a website where users can find the best fashion sales from over 240+ (including NZ) online fashion stores.

It gathers products from many well-known fashion stores such as ASOS, The Iconic, SABA, SurfStitch, Sportscraft, Seed Heritage, City Beach, Tony Bianco… and monitors product price drops  daily. This allows shoppers the quickest way to find the best sale for the day or week  instead of searching sale sections of each store’s website – what a drag that is!

Like most online shoppers, I don’t know how many hours a night I have spent trolling my favourite websites and apps to make sure that I haven’t missed out.

With new stores added every week, product prices and availability updated daily. FASHION LANE is now my go to place for trend, seasonal and staple pieces.

One of the best things about this site is the variety of search options – you can search by item, brand/store or that day’s discounts.

Being able to get items on sale at just one click is a revolution and a great way to experiment with your style and wardrobe.

Whether you are looking for new shoes, an outfit for a special occasion or just a casual outfit, FASHION LANE has you covered. And the discounts are HUGE, like ridiculously HUGE. Yesterday I found some gorgeous bras as little as $1.50!! How crazy is that?!

Story Behind Fashion Lane

FASHION LANE was founded by two entrepreneurs Edward Chan and Tony Wan. They are currently working on the website in evenings after finished their day job.

Well done boys, you’ve cut my shopping in half!

ALL ABOUT MISSY is going through some changes which you’ll see soon. With a focus on Luxe for Less and the local community, I’m getting back to my roots and focusing on providing content that is more relevant to my local readers and more authentic to me.

I’ve been blessed with a fun and successful career to date, but I have noticed that I’ve been feeling less passionate about my work, and I believe that stems from the fact I’ve moved away from my original vision of All About Missy.

As a creative, it’s easy to stray from your core and with regular feelings of doubt about your work, it can sometimes be hard to step outside, refocus and plan.

This past weekend, I have done just that.

I’ve made the decision to get back to what I love. Sharing events, places, food and activities that are fun, easy and are good for the back pocket.

We look forward to these changes and hope you do too.

Don’t really have anything in particular to talk about today, but I think this outfit is super cute.

Hard to believe the denim playsuit was only $2 and over the knee boots $20.

After a fun afternoon yesterday checking out the Lifeline sale, starting to wash everything and see how I can integrate everything into my current wardrobe – I thought I’d show one of the outfits I picked up.

Remember, this whole outfit – dress, belt and vest cost me only $6 and that money went towards Lifeline’s 24/7 crisis helpline – with my mental health history, I know how important these services are.

As I mentioned in my little video, I went in with a bit of plan, looking for specific items. I knew that if I didn’t have some sort of strategy, I would get completely overwhelmed and probably end up having a panic attack.

I don’t actually own many dresses, in fact I think I have two – both black dresses, and a kaftan. I wanted to find some casual dresses for the weekend with a bit of a boho vibe. So when rifling through the piles that’s what I kept an eye out for  – prints, texture and certain items. I also wanted to get as much denim as I could and a couple of leather pieces as well as some items for my fiance.

I absolutely love this dress and know I’ll get a lot of wear out of it and can style it many ways. Plus because it’s up cycled the crispness of the fabric has gone so it’s soft and flowy. The denim vest was a bonus!

Terrible Tuesday as they say and I’m still washing and sorting out all my amazing bargains from the Lifeline sale.

For those of you that don’t know my heritage is Cherokee (on my fathers side) so today I’m embracing my inner Poccahontas.

I grabbed this gorgeous tan, soft leather oversized tshirt/dress from the $2 leather table and it is so comfortable. Can be worn many ways, as a dress like I am here or with a belt worn with jeans or even shorts.

I’ve really struggled this week to be productive. The car thing is still getting me down even though we are in the process of buying one – hopefully pick up Friday or Saturday – it’s just so frustrating being stuck at home all day every day. Not being able to do shoots that are booked in, and just not having the flexibility to head out to a coffee shop or anything and chill.

As I’ve said before, patience is a quality that is not very strong in Missy lol.

As many of you would know if you’re a regular follower, i’m a huge fan of op shopping and up cycled clothing. This weekend is the Lifeline $2 clothing sale on at the Gold Coast Exhibition & Convention Centre and I’ve got an exclusive sneak peek to check it out and show you all what’s on offer before they open tomorrow and Sunday from 8am to 5pm.

Check out my little video below and just a few pictures of things I ended up getting.

All monies raised from the clothing sale goes towards their 24 hr telephone crisis support helpline 13 11 14.

So get your wallets out, come on down and grab yourself a new wardrobe and know that you are supporting an amazing cause that saves lives.

With over 3000 shoppers expected through the door, and tables restocked regularly you are bound to sort out your Autumn/Winter wardrobe for the whole family.

Jeans, pants, skirts, shorts, tops, shirts, jumpers, hoodies, belts and leather covering women, men and children.

Keep an eye out on my Instagram @allaboutmissy for the fabulous pieces I picked up – all for under $50.
